Program Description

StrongHearts Native Helpline (1-844-762-8483 / 1-844-7NATIVE) is a 24/7 confidential and anonymous helpline for American Indians and Alaska Natives impacted by domestic or sexual violence. Our SMS program allows relatives in crisis to connect anonymously with a trained advocate via text message. To protect the privacy and safety of both relatives and advocates, all SMS communications are routed through an anonymizing phone number system — neither party will see the other's real phone number.

How to Opt In

You opt in to receive SMS messages from StrongHearts Native Helpline by texting any message to 1-844-762-8483 (1-844-7NATIVE). By sending a text to this number, you consent to receive SMS messages from StrongHearts Native Helpline as part of this crisis support program.

Message Frequency

Message frequency varies based on your interaction with our advocates. You will receive an initial response notification, followed by messages from an assigned advocate for the duration of your session. Text sessions are closed by texting GOODBYE or by asking the advocate to disconnect. Sessions will also automatically close after 7 minutes of inactivity.

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. StrongHearts Native Helpline does not charge for this service. Please contact your mobile carrier for information about your messaging plan.
